In modern industrial automation technology, there are many methods of liquid level measurement, which can be divided into direct measurement and indirect measurement. The capacitive liquid level sensor belongs to indirect measurement. The capacitive liquid level sensor has a simple structure, convenient installation, high sensitivity and low price, and is widely used in various fields that need to detect liquids such as the medical industry and the food industry.
Compared with the float switch, the capacitive liquid level sensor is a contact type, easy to scale, and used to detect unhygienic drinking water and the like; while the capacitive type is non-contact, small in size, and high in measurement accuracy.
The signal output by the capacitive liquid level sensor is a digital signal (I/O). When there is water, the sensor outputs a low voltage < 0.3V; when there is no water, the sensor outputs a high voltage > 4.5V. The capacitive liquid level sensor has a built-in MCU chip, which is controlled by an algorithm, and judges whether the water tank is short of water according to the difference in capacitance value when there is water and no water. Capacitive liquid level sensor is suitable for plastic, glass and other containers, and the sensor is used close to the outer wall of the water tank.
The capacitive liquid level sensor cannot be used to detect metal water tanks, and there should be no metal or magnetic field within 2cm to avoid interference. Because the sensor is placed on the outer wall of the water tank, there are no problems such as corrosion, so any liquid can be detected.
